Officer Michael Langsdorf: North County Police Cooperative

At around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, June 23rd, Officer Michael Langsdorf, a 40-year-old father of two and veteran police officer, responded to a call about a person trying to cash a bad check at Clay’s Wellston Food Market located just northwest of downtown St. Louis. Upon arrival, Officer Langsdorf confronted the man. A struggle ensued during which the suspect pulled a handgun from his waistband and struck Officer Langsdorf in the head. The suspect then executed Officer Langsdorf on the floor of the Food Market and fled the scene only to be captured later by other officers.

This artwork was created with a 90% discount by the Artists at Summerlin Studios as a tribute to Officer Langsdorf and his 17 years of service in Missouri law enforcement.
